Cut-out width

The width of the hole in the panel; the frame's window matches it. Typical boxes: about 60 mm single, 102 mm double, 145 mm triple gang, but measure yours. The cover plate overlaps the frame's inner border.

Cut-out height

The height of the hole in the panel.

Border

How far the frame reaches past the cut-out on every side. At least 14 mm, so each holder presses into intact slot beside the cut-out; widen it for oversize cover plates.

Stand-off from the slat face

How far the frame's front stands out from the slat face, holders included. Match it to where the box extension ring ends, so the cover plate sits flat on the frame.

Snap barbs catch behind the slot lip so a knock can't pop the holders out; pry a holder to remove it. Friction holds by squeeze alone and is easier to move: try it, with the grip tightness at 0, in slots with aluminium inserts.

Cut-out centre from the slot

Measure from the middle of the nearest slot to the middle of the cut-out: up is positive. Up to 30 mm the holders move; beyond that the window moves within a taller frame.

Frames an outlet or switch cut-out in a slatwall panel, hiding its rough edge. Two holders press into the slot beside it, and the cover plate clamps the frame. Print the holders in PETG or ASA; the frame doesn't replace the box extension ring your electrical code asks for.
